Free Wallets

Before you start getting free Bitcoins you need to get yourself a Bitcoin wallet (many of them are free), there are several services to choose from.

Getting a wallet is a very simple process indeed; these are the different types depending on how secure and how you want to keep your Bitcoins, you can start with a simple online or mobile wallet and more to a more secure system at a later date.

• Mobile Wallet - Probably the most popular for people starting out - these are wallets for mobile phone use only. (Search your OS Store (i.e. Google Play or iTunes etc for a wallet)
• Online Wallet - These are wallets that connect you to the blockchain which is stored in the cloud and does not need to be downloaded to your computer. (Try Coinbase)
• Offline Wallet - These are the most controllable wallets as you have them on your hard drive and can deal with them in any way that you wish. Your private keys are stored on your computer. (Try
  Armory or Bitcoin-qt)
• Lightweight Wallet - These are wallets that connect you to the blockchain which is stored in the cloud they do not need to be downloaded to your computer. The private keys on these wallets can be downloaded to your computer as needed.
• Paper Wallet - These are wallets where your private keys are encrypted and stored on paper in a safe location.

If you're just starting out then my recommendation would be to start with a Mobile or Online Wallet and more to a more secure system if you start to build up a decent amount of value in Bitcoins.
